When important things clash....

I was planning to go to a trip with a bunch of people to a place called "Bahia de las Aguilas" (Eagle's Bay). This place is one the few that due to the distance, lack of good roads and hotels, is still a pristine location due to the beautifull beaches, marine life, etc..
All year several species like turtles, birds, iguanas, manatees, come to this place to breed, as the fishing is prohibited. Now, some smart ass people from the goverment want to bring investors to build hotels in this area. If that happens, this will affect directly the ecosystem. This trip was to bring as many people as possible to take a picture with a big "NO" to be sent to newspapers and local and international organizations...

However...

There is also a field day from my daughter's school programed the same day, and I was chossen to help with that. Frankly I love my kids and I always enjoy to be with them as much as possible.

So, I would have liked to be in Bahia, but unfortunatly I will go to the field day.

I only regret that by not going, and that by any chance they fail to stop the construction of the hotels, I will fail to see this paradise before is gone.....

Don't beat yourself up about not being able to participate... nothing stops "progress" when there is money to be made regardless of the destruction it causes to natural habitat...

Well, progress can kiss my ass....
Other countries like Costa Rica, have developed ecotourism, where locations are still preserved, and people are moved there to enjoy it without damaging the enviroment...

The idea that a hotel has to be built right in front of a beautiful place like this is plane stupid....

You might be rigt Spore, might be a lost cause, but if people including myself don't move a finger, is like giving them the green light....and that won't happen....

That's a beautiful place MM4! Wow!

*looks outside and sees only a grey skyscraper plus some rain...*

But I think you made the right choice by going with your kid though.
